Alslinjen's electric ferry put into production

The Turkish Cemre Shipyard together with representatives from the Molslinjen started, the construction of Alslinjen's new electric ferry. It happened at the traditional steelcutting ceremony.

The first slab was cut for Alslinjen's future electric ferry. It happened at that one traditional steelcutting ceremony, which marks the beginning of the exciting new construction.

Representatives from Molslinjen and Cemre Shipyard were present, as Molslinjen's manager of building project, Ole Berg-Hansen, yesterday afternoon pressed the button and started the CNC the plasma cutting machine which cut through the very first plate for the new ferry.

The all-electric ferry will be 116.8 meters long and will have a capacity of 600 passengers and 188 cars. It will be equipped with the most modern, autonomous systems where it can both find in port and charge automatically.

The ferry will have batteries of 3.1 MWh which can be fully charged in approx. 20 minutes Alslinjen's ferry must be ready for operation in September 2024.
